Windows 7 has five different theme sets and wallpapers based on different regions of the world. Your PC will come pre-loaded with the theme set for the area closest to where you live.

Nevertheless, if you live in Australia, for example, and want to use the themes for Canada or the United Kingdom, you can change your choice. Open Windows Explorer; click on your ‘C’ drive; type "globalization" in the search box; click on the result; type "MCT" in the search box, and the list of files will open. These files are "hidden" so you won’t simply see them listed. These folders will have all the geographic themes, as well as wallpapers, for different areas such as the UK, Canada, Australia, South Africa, Canada, and the US. Even though these files are hidden, when you know where to look you can easily change the look of your desktop from Themes already installed on your PC.

An easy way to do this is to load Windows onto an USB drive so you can have a copy of it with you if you ever need it. This will give you the reassurance of knowing Windows can be reinstalled easily on your computer, or another computer if necessary. Using flash memory is much faster than installing the operating system from a disk or the internet.
